This project is part of a series of photos from a personal project which I have done along with the Association Dare Futuro founded in 2008 in order to support the promotion and protection of the right of children, women and the sick, with particular attention throughout Africa. After spending some weeks at the Hôpital La Croix in Zinvié I tried to document the work done there with medicine students from Italy and to be more aware of the situation in the region. After the realization of the project we collected money from the selling of some prints for donation to the hospital.

In Benin important gains in malaria control have been achieved in recent years, however, malaria remains a leading cause of morbidity and mortality. There are about 400,000 people to whom this hospital, founded in 1978 by the Camillian Missionaries of the Campania-Sicilian province, manages to guarantee health insurance: for this reason, this has now become a fundamental reference point for Zinviè and many of the surrounding residents.
